UK Networks
T-Mobile is one of the world’s largest mobile operators with more than 91 million customers worldwide and in the UK it is the network of choice for approaching 17 million customers, making it one of the largest networks.
T-Mobile has a range of innovative products and services such as Flext, a unique tariff with flexible pricing; U-Fix, a tariff that combines pay-as-you-go and a monthly contract and Web’n'Walk, which enables customers to surf websites on the move. T-Mobile’s network coverage is among the best in the UK (over 99% of the UK population) with one of the lowest dropped call rates. It offers the largest worldwide Wi-Fi network, with over 1,000 HotSpots in business-friendly locations in the UK and 21,000 worldwide, and offers the fastest 3G network across the UK with speeds of up to 1.8mb per second.
Data is provided via an add on package called Web ‘n’ walk and provides unlimited browsing and email at differeing price points depending on what you want to do.
The network is a GSM network as all UK networks are and data is provided via GPRS, 3G and HSDPA.

3 originally known as Hutchison 3G, was formed in May 2000 after the UK Government awarded five licences to run third generation mobile phone services. The largest licence was set-aside for a newcomer in the market to increase competition – and the 3 network acquired the rights at the lowest cost.
The 3 network is available across eight countries and has over 10 million customers. In the UK alone, 3 has acquired 3.5 million 3G customers, up by nearly half a million since March 2005.

Virgin Mobile UK became the fastest growing mobile start-up in the UK when it reached one million users in 2000. Now it has expanded further as a ‘virtual network’, which uses the T-Mobile set-up.
