Vodafone, the world’s largest mobile phone group by revenue, is struggling to meet demand for the new Blackberry Storm phone, its chief executive said on Thursday. Vittorio Colao told a small group of journalists after a speech at an Ofcom event that the phone was selling very well. “We might end up having a problem with giving enough Storms to as many customers who want it,” he said. “It’s going very well, we might be short of them, to be honest.”

The Blackberry Storm 9500, the first ever touch-screen BlackBerry smartphone, purpose built for Vodafone, will be available to pre-order from today at www.vodafone.co.uk/storm, through Vodafone’s retail stores and by telesales. Customers can also pre-register interest through Vodafone’s retail partner Phones 4U. The BlackBerry Storm pricing will start from free on a two year contract at £35 per month on a Best for Text plan that will include 600 minutes and unlimited texts*. On Vodafone’s Best for Talk £35 plan customers will receive 700 minutes and 250 texts and unlimited landline or Vodafone to Vodafone calls. Best for Talk and Best for Text Plans also include unlimited internet and email, with Vodafone’s satellite navigation service Find&Go free for the first six months.

Vodafone now have the Xperia X1 in stock to order on a personal or a business plan. Looks like we are finally seeing the X1 hitting the network’s shops as well as the online stores now after a few delays, £45.00 a month tariffs and above and you can get it free. Also Clove have it in stock sim free as we mentioned the other day too.

Vodafone has told its third-party sales partners to use the “software issues and technical faults” it claims forced Orange to stop selling the new BlackBerry Bold to persuade consumers it has a better 3G network than its rival does. Those faults, Vodafone alleges in an confidential memo seen by Register Hardware, centre on “reliable 3G network coverage on the device”. Orange confirmed the Bold had been linked to “3G-related concerns”, which it stressed were “limited to a minority of Orange customers in the UK”.

Just had a tip off that the stories floating around today that The HTC Touch HD will be exclusive to Orange in the UK are wide of the mark. Our tipster who claims to have it on good authority (From HTC), tells us that the device will be released on Orange in the second half of November and end of November early December for the rest of the networks. So Orange do have an exclusive for all of a few weeks. Obviously it will be available sim free early November from the usual sources.

It is a Vodafone marketing video so not sure how accurate this is to a  real life demonstration, having said that it looks pretty good to me and it maybe changing my opinion of this device. Vodafone UK is trialling a unique service that enables all UK mobile users to send text messages from their Facebook profile to friends. The pilot service will be extended later this month to also include picture messages. Vodafone Connect to Friends lets Facebook users send texts and picture messages without having to switch from PC to mobile simply by installing the ‘Vodafone Connect to Friends’ application to their Facebook profile. The application allows users to send messages not only to their online Facebook friends but also to non-Facebook users and groups. Vodafone Connect to Friends can be used by anyone regardless of their choice of UK mobile operator.

According to Modaco, T-Mobile are now selling the 8 Gig version of the Samsung Omnia, that means you now have a choice of three networks if your considering picking up this hot Windows Mobile phone in the UK. Orange have exclusivity on the 16 Gig version and Vodafone are also selling the 8 Gig version. It is not on T-Mobiles site as of yet but they are taking orders over the phone.
