This is one device I have been waiting for, for what seems like years to get my hands on. I have trusted Palm for many years to deliver reliable, if a little dated devices. I had half expected Palm to deliver something irritatingly limited this time around with little to wet the palette. Thankfully I was wrong.

Unfortunately due to other commitments we had to miss the Palm Treo Pro launch event in London today but luckily the guys over at wmpoweruser managed to get the info even though there wasn’t much that we did not already know. The highlights are after the break.

My good friend David Ciccone managed to get his hands on the Treo Pro which we discussed on the first episode of the Mobile Tech Addicts Podcast and he has posted an unboxing video showing the new Palm Treo Pro along with a good look at the outside features of this great looking handset. We are talking to Palm and are very hopeful of getting hold of one of these for ourselves to review, it looks like this will be released in the UK at the beginning of September and if it is as innovative and stable as the Treo 750V then Palm may be on to a winner. Palm today officially announced the Treo pro, Not really a great surprise but at least it is now official. As we thought it does have a 320 x 320 touch screen, HSDPA, WiFi, GPS and more importantly a 3.5mm headset jack and a massive 1500mAH battery. Well done Palm on that one. This one is destined for a Vodafone and O2 launch next month in the UK as well as Sim free version. Full specifications, PR Video and pictures after the break.

Early this morning, Palm released a couple of official press photos of the Treo Pro along with a short video. The company didn’t reveal a whole lot of information other than the following, the Treo Pro smartphone features a one-touch Wi-Fi button, GPS, Windows Mobile 6.1 and a high-resolution flush colour touch screen. WMExperts have managed to find some more great pictures of the Palm Treo 850 or Palm Treo Pro. This is looking like a sweet device for the front facing keyboard lovers out there. Shame it is only a 320 x 320 screen and carries a lousy 2 mega pixel camera, but hey we cannot have everything. Oh and where have I seen that glossy plastic curved back before? Pictures have surfaced today reported to have been leaked by a Palm training site of the much rumoured Palm 850 series GSM device. This is the GSM version of the CDMA only 800W but does seem to have had a bit of a makeover. I really like the black colour scheme of this phone, makes it look very professional. If these are real this must be launching pretty soon. Check out the pictures after the break.

Alli Flowers has posted a great video overview of the Palm Treo 800W over at msmobiles. One of the things that stands out for me on this device is the speed navigating the menu’s. The treo seems really snappy and mixed with the extras that Palm add to their handsets this could be a really good device. Unfortunately CDMA only so forget seeing this in Europe but we have heard the Treo 850 GSM version should be along soon. Video after the break.

Mobility Today have the scoop on the latest Palm Windows Mobile device the Treo 800W. Not a great deal for us on this side of the pond as it is a CDMA device but it should give us some pointers as to what to expect with the Treo 850V when it hits in the coming months in Europe. The guys at Palm have been kind enough to loan me a Palm Centro to take a look at, so I jumped at the chance to have a play around with it. As I haven’t used a Palm OS converged device before this is a whole new experience, so I am going to look at Palm as a fresh user which should be interesting.
When the device arrived I opened the box and my first impression of the phone was its size, it is very very small, much smaller than I had imagined, but it is quite thick.(107×53x18mm)
