Samsung Singapore just made its first ROM update for the SGH-i900 Omnia Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional smartphone available which can now be downloaded from the web.
This self-service ROM update (no more service center returns) should include new functionalities like new widgets for Samsung’s custom Today screen and a brand-new Hanyu Pinyin text input method for typing in Chinese characters as well as several bug fixes. Other changes and enhancements are unknown yet because Samsung doesn’t published a detailed change-log.

Vodafone have just released a firmware upgrade for their version of the HTC Diamond. Hats off to Vodafone as it has always been a major gripe that the networks take forever to issue software upgrade for devices but this definitely seems to be improving. There is no mention of what has been changed in the firmware but we are guessing that it will be improvements in the device speed especially using the TouchFlo UI. Link and details after the break.

HTC have just released another Rom update for the HTC Diamond, this is version 1.93 and is available for all UK and European handsets. As usual with any HTC Rom update it is only available through the HTC E-Club and will appear under software updates for your device, or give it half an hour and you will be able to get it from xda-developers. The Rom claims to update the camera navigation, improved TouchFlo response,  updates to weather application and text alert speed, if you update let us know how it works out.

The Unwired have posted a brilliant video showing the final Rom Samsung will use for its unbranded and SIM-free i900 Omnia. Unlike the previous hands-on video The Unwired showed us, which was made with a SGH-i900 prototype running a Beta software, this videoview now shows you how the final software will look and work.

HTC Hong Kong have released a new official Rom for the HTC Diamond that fixes quite a few issues that we have seen along with enabling the 850 mhz band for US use. The guys over at XDA-Developers have done it again, this time it is great news for the US early adopters of the HTC Diamond. As has been well documented the HTC Diamond released for the European and Asia markets did not have the 850 Mhz band available, this is the band that AT&T use mainly for their GSM network so if you have a Diamond the best you can expect is rather patchy coverage. HTC claimed it was a space restriction within the Diamond and that was why it did not work as the hardware had not been included, well this looks like being a red herring as the new Radio Rom enables the 850 band for use in the US. Unfortunately still no 3G or HSDPA but edge coverage will be fine.

HTC today released another Rom update for the HTC Diamond 1.37.401.3 . The Rom is available to download from the HTC Club website where registration and a valid HTC device serial number is required. The Rom is supposed to update the Connection Wizard, Enlarge Start Menu, TouchFlo 3D, Volume Control, XT9, Youtube and a few other minor tweaks. We will test it out as soon as it is downloaded and installed and see what we think.

Well it seems HTC have pulled the Rom already as it has now vanished as fast as it appeared, but you can download it from rapidshare here
