Adobe Systems has begun a new, higher-power effort to spread its Flash technology to mobile devices. The company has worked for years on a lightweight incarnation of its Flash technology for mobile phones, but it now is working to bring the full-fledged Flash Player 10 to higher-end smartphones, Chief Technology Officer Kevin Lynch said at Adobe’s Max conference here. “We are midst of evolving Flash Player 10 for mobile,” Lynch said. “We’re taking the full Flash Player and making that run on the higher end of the mobile market.”

The guy’s at Techradar got out of bed early this morning and headed down to the T-Mobile flagship store on Oxford Street in London to see what was going on, it seemed the queue make-up was very different to the one outside the O2 shop for the release of the iPhone 3G, not least because the queue only comprised of around 25 people compared to the hundreds that flocked to get their hands on Apple’s latest offering. Overall, the launch was much as expected. Getting people through the doors was a little slower than some hoped, as processing transactions took around 30 mins in most cases.

Just received an email from T-Mobile, if your interested in the G1 Android phone you will be able to order it online from tomorrow or get it in-store from Thursday at 9am. If you fancy being one of the first to see the G1 in the flesh, T-Mobile is hosting an exclusive early opening of their store at 287 Oxford Street, London, W1C 2DP (nearest Tube Oxford Circus). You’ll need to be there for 7am to find out what they have planned for the T-Mobile G1 launch.

HTC is finally going public with the number of G1 phones it expects to sell by the end of the year—600,000 is the figure it is offering up.  Sales projections are a tricky game for device manufacturers. It’s an opportunity for companies like Apple and HTC to boast about how well they plan their products to perform, but it’s also a chance to appear surprised later when they outperform their own forecasts.

Windows Mobile has nothing to fear from either the iPhone or Google Android, says Microsoft’s John Curran. TechRadar asked the Windows business lead for Microsoft UK how he saw Windows Mobile, Android and the iPhone divvying up market share in three years’ time. “Well I would have to say that number one would be, not surprisingly, Microsoft,” says Curran. “We’ve got over 50 partners… from a hardware perspective we’re really well positioned.” Placing Android and Apple in order in the remaining three rivals is “a tough call”, he continues. “One’s an emerging one, the other is a very limited form factor. Just spotted this video walk through over at the Google Mobile Blog showing the Gmail application on the Android OS. I have to say it looks really well integrated and if your a big Gmail user this could sway your phone choice. Android preserves all the functionality that you are used to on your desktop, such as starring, archiving, assigning and reading labels, and the conversation view that makes reading email on Gmail so pleasant. We pride ourselves at Mobile Tech Addicts on reviewing devices fairly and honestly and if something is not working how it should or is a poor product we tell you how it is, likewise if the product is fantastic we are very happy to say that too. Luckily we review devices for two great online companies Clove and Superetrader who both share this same philosophy even though it may effect their device sales. Unfortunately this is not always the case where manufacturers are concerned. Mobility Today share the same honest review philosophy but because of this they seem to have been blacklisted by certain PR companies and manufacturers when it comes to receiving review devices.

According to one of our readers JDBradford, the T-Mobile G1 Android handset will be exclusively available through Carphone Warehouse starting from the 28th October. Obviously this exclusivity is along with T-Mobile online and high street stores. No official confirmation from either CPW or T-Mobile as of yet though.

Google has put itself in charge of policing Android devices. The search giant is retaining the right to delete applications from Android handsets on a whim. Unlike Apple, the company has made no attempt to hide its intentions, and includes the details in the Android Market terms and conditions, as spotted by Computer World.

ZDnet have got it and looked at it in a lot of detail. There are 100’s of pictures and a few videos for you to sink your teeth into alongside a whopping 7 page review. The UK will be able to get their hands on T-Mobile’s G1 Android phone at the end of the month, the carrier said today. The G1 will be available from Thursday, 30 October, T-Mobile said. Sign up for a Combi or Flext £40-a-month package, and you can have the G1 for free. according to The Register. The Combi tariff comes with 800 minutes’ talktime, unlimited text messages and “unlimited” internet browsing on the G1’s HSUPA/HSDPA 3G connection.

Phonedog got it from two unrelated sources late last week that T-Mobile is prepping a version of HTC’s Touch HD as their next Android phone.  If true this could be interesting however the Touch HD does not have a capacitive screen only a resistive screen so would differ from the G1 in that respect. Having said that it would be a nice device and after yesterdays hoax story of the iPhone running Windows Mobile maybe seeing a dual boot smartphone is not that far away. Treat this as a rumour for now but we will keep a close eye on any developments.

Want to have a closer look at the Android OS in action, T-Mobile have just posted a web page with an emulated G1 to have a click around. It is a bit limited in functionality but you can see what some of the interface is going to look like. They have also posted a page with a 360 degree look around the phone and you can event flip the keyboard up and down. Here is the link if you want to take a look.

In an interview with the BBC News channel in the UK Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer promised that Microsoft would take the battle to Google in search - and beat off any challenge in the field of mobile phone software. Last week saw the launch of the first phone based on Google’s open-source Android platform. But Mr Ballmer said an open-source solution would not be attractive to phone manufacturers, and predicted that Windows Mobile phones would stay ahead of Blackberry, Apple’s iPhone and Google Android in the smartphone market.
